a bride and groom embrace in the field near the barn at barra castle, inverurie, aberdeenshire

The Barn at Barra Castle. Wow. I’ve wanted to shoot here for a long time and finally last weekend I had the chance. Having met up with Ailsa and Dale for their engagement shoot a couple of months ago I knew I was in for a treat. These two are the most fun ever! And they brought to their day a big party of the lovliest family and friends to this fantastic venue.

One of the most magic mornings too: Check out Ailsa’s bridesmaids’ reaction to seeing her for the first time in her dress! Amazing.

Did it rain most of the day? Yep! Did it matter? Nope! The Barn at Barra Castle is just one of those venues that can take it – it’s beautiful inside and out. We lucked out on a dry spell in the evening which gave Ailsa chance to pull on her Doc Martens and head off into the most beautiful field for some photos. Bennachie in the distance, lovely soft evening light and a chance for these two to have ten minutes together to catch up on the day.
